Carol Cicak Obituary

Carol Cicak

06/30/1946 - 09/13/2024

Carol Cicak (Chee-chak), 78, of Curtice, OH, passed away peacefully on September 13, 2024, at Traditions of Deerfield in Cincinnati, OH, surrounded by her beloved family. She was born on June 30, 1946, in Toledo, OH, to Helen and Daniel Zimmer.

Carol was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, known for her selfless love and unwavering support. No matter what, she was always there for her family-ready to drop everything when one of her sons called. She graduated from the University of Toledo (UT) with a Bachelor's degree in Education and later earned her Master's degree in Education from UT as well. She enjoyed attending football and basketball games at her alma mater with her husband, George. Carol dedicated her life to teaching, spending 30+ years in the classroom at Lagrange and Edgewater before retiring to spend more time with her family.

Those who knew Carol were drawn to her infectious sense of humor and contagious laugh. She had the remarkable ability to bring joy to every room, always a comedian until the very end. She loved making her pigs in a blanket and mashed potatoes, a beloved New Year's tradition in the Cicak household. Carol loved planting flowers every summer, especially petunias. She loved the view from her home on Chippewa Golf Course, often waving to her husband and sons as they played golf. In her spare time, Carol enjoyed walking the golf course, watching classic movies, and reading the Toledo Blade.

Carol is preceded in death by her mother, Helen Zimmer; her father, Daniel Zimmer; her son, Eric Cicak; and her grandson, Michael G. Cicak. She is survived by her loving husband of fifty-one years, George Cicak; her children, Mike (Gail) Cicak and Ryan (Nicole) Cicak; and her grandchildren, Kyle, Reagan, and Connor Cicak.

Carol will always be remembered for her sense of humor, her wise advice, her can-do attitude, and her unwavering love for her family.

Donations in Carol's memory can be made to Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Oregon, OH where Carol and George attended.
