Carol A. nee Martin (Watkins) Earls

Carol A. Earls, née Martin (Watkins), passed on to eternal paradise on Sunday, January 14, 2024, at age 86. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lorette R. and Obed B. Martin, Sr.; her daughter, Carol J. (Jeanne) Peterson; and her brother, Obed B. Martin, Jr.

Born in Toledo, Ohio, Carol grew up in the Old South End, and attended Libbey High School. She worked at a variety of jobs, as well as spending years as a stay at home mom. She worked for the Jobst Corp. for many years before deciding to relocate to Florida.

In 1979, Carol found herself single again. She eventually met her second husband, barber, George Earls. They married in 1986, and purchased a home in Florida. They traveled up and down the east coast in their RV, relaxing at various water accessible locations, loving camping, swimming, and fishing. Carol spent a great number of years at Lumedyne Corp. until she finally retired. She loved the color blue, her cat Beauregard (Beau), nautical decor, and hanging out at VFW Post 7987. She developed many lifelong friendships there, and held the honorable title of Treasurer for more than two decades.

Carol is survived by her children, Robin E. Brown, of Long Beach, MS, Betty A. Sarabia, William F. Watkins (Brenda), and Cindy L.A. Sedlock (Bill), all from Toledo, OH, Jason A. Watkins, of Carmichael, CA; and sister, Eva M. Watkins, Prospect, TN. Lovingly known as Granny, she left behind 16 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and 1 on the way.

A memorial service is pending for both New Port Richey, FL., and Toledo, OH. Further details to be announced.
