Carol Ann (Janowiecki) Zielinski, a longtime Maumee resident, completed her life's journey on Wednesday, July 2, 2014. She was born to Edward and Dorothy (Moroczkowski) Janowiecki on January 27, 1938. On May 17, 1958, Carol married her loving husband, Leo James Zielinski Jr. Carol was a manager for McDonald's and retired from Hickory Farms. She was an avid reader, enjoyed shopping and loved to go out to eat with her friends and "pool buddies." She also loved her John Deer breakfast club every Sunday. Carol was very giving and was strong in her faith. Carol loved to travel. She would take her grandchildren on a trip, when they graduated from high school, to anywhere they wanted to go. She also had the pleasure of experiencing many trips to Europe with her sister. With all these interests, there was still nothing more important to her than her family. As devoted as she was to her children, she was even more devoted to her grandchildren. She also had a great relationship with her children's spouses.

Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Leo; her parents; sister, Janice, and brother, Edward. She is survived by her sister, Alexandra "Sandy" Janowiecki; her daughter, Laurie (Robert) Leahy; sons, Scott (Lisa) and Chris (Karen) Zielinski; adored grandchildren, Courtney and Zachary Zielinski, Shannon and Brendan Leahy and Jordan Gunning; canine companion, Zoe, and by many extended family and friends.

Family and friends may visit on Sunday, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. with scripture services at 7:00 p.m. at the W.K. Sujkowski & Son Funeral Home, 3838 Airport Hwy. The Funeral Litugy will be held on Monday, July 7, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Maumee where family will receive friends after 10:30 a.m. Interment will be private. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Jude Children's Hospital or St. Joseph Church, Maumee.
