Catherine Kime Obituary

KIME
Catherine Elizabeth

Such promise, such beauty, such devotion. Such sadness surrounds the family of Catherine Elizabeth Kime, 21, who passed away just after dawn on June 30, 2016, at the University of Toledo Medical Center. Catherine succumbed to injuries sustained the preceding evening as the passenger in a tragic traffic accident.
She was born September 20, 1994, to Gary and Debra Kime. Catherine was the witty, stylish and fastidious younger sister of Robert and Stephen. Catherine's compassion for others led her to pursue a future in healthcare. On academic scholarship, Catherine completed a year in premedicine at the University of Dayton. Her propensity as a hands-on caregiver—a role that so suited her—led Catherine home to Sylvania, Ohio, to study nursing at Lourdes University. While at Lourdes, Catherine shared her aptitude for learning by tutoring classmates. Every semester at both universities, Catherine was on the Dean's List. At Dayton, she was also a member of the Theta Phi Alpha sorority.
She graduated with honors from Notre Dame Academy in 2013, and Sylvania Franciscan Academy in 2009. She attended Ladyfield Catholic School until it closed after her fourth grade year. A volleyball and lacrosse player in high school and a CYO volleyball referee, Catherine remained healthy and active. Her passion for fitness balanced her love of baking—especially blueberry muffins and cake balls. In her honor, may exercise invigorate our own spirits as we maintain mental and physical health through this great loss. Dear, sweet Catherine shared her mother's love of all creatures great and small. Catherine volunteered at the Toledo Area Humane Society. She left behind her gentle pit bull, Sadie and feline friend, Kitty. They will be loved and cared for by her mother, Debbie, as she loved and cared for Catherine.
Welcomed by loving arms by those who adored her, Catherine was preceded in death by her grandmother, Helen Wilczynski; godfather, Ben Barrett and grandfathers, Walter A. Wilczynski and Paul D. Kime. She is survived by parents, Gary and Debra (Wilczynski), Sylvania; brothers, Robert (Greg Cadili) of Venice, FL, and Stephen, Sylvania; godmother, Cindy Barrett; uncles and aunts, Daniel and Barbara Wilczynski, Mike and Patti Lewandowski, Doug and Julie Fulton, and Al and Julie Gearheart; cousins, Jeffery, Kristy and Matthew Barrett; Beth (Antonoplos), David and Paul Lewandowski; Laura (Hillman) and Eric Wilczynski; Edward and Jenna Fulton; and Tara, Erica and Keith Gearheart.
Family and friends may visit on Tuesday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Rd. where a rosary will be said at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will begin on Wednesday at 10:15 a.m. in the funeral home and continue with the Funeral Mass in Little Flower Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to The Catherine E. Kime Memorial Nursing Scholarship at Lourdes University, 6832 Convent Blvd., Sylvania, Ohio 43560, which will assist future students to carry on Catherine's dreams. Condolences can be shared at
