Charles Brewer Obituary
April 27, 1940 - October 16, 2025
The world lost a gentle and loving soul when Charles J. Brewer passed away on October 16, 2025, at Hospice of NW Ohio in Perrysburg after battling AML Leukemia. Chuck was born April 27, 1940, in Detroit, to Adeline and Charles R. Brewer. He attended Precious Blood and Detroit Central Catholic where he played multiple sports. Chuck accepted a baseball scholarship to the University of Toledo, and though he had the opportunity to pursue a professional pitching career with the Detroit Tigers, he chose to stay near family and friends. He served in the U.S. Army Reserve.
Chuck and his former wife, Kristi, raised four children in their Ottawa Hills home. Chuck founded the Ottawa Hills youth soccer program and was a proud founding partner of the Pacesetter Soccer Club.
Professionally, he enjoyed a 45-year career as a real-estate broker locally, generously sharing his knowledge and expertise.
He is survived by his children, John (Toledo), Adam (Liz Arch) (Hawaii), Katie (Carter Smith) (Winston-Salem, N.C.), and Sarah (Michael Kabbaz) (Monterey, CA); grandchildren, Kate, Bella, Alexander and Skye; and his longtime companion, Char Winckowski, with whom he shared 23 years of memories. He was predeceased by son, Paul Justen.
An avid reader when not kayaking, biking, or running in Wildwood or Olander Parks, Chuck loved water, traveling to Northern Michigan, and lived the belief that in life "all you need is time, health, love and money."
For the past 2 years he lived at Wolf Creek, and donated his body to UTMC.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Poco Piatti, 3155 Chappel Dr., PG, Saturday November 22, 2025, from 6-8 p.m.

We´ve considered Chuck family as he and Char were part of many family gatherings that over the years brought much joy. Chuck always had an easy going personality that was nice to be around. He´ll be greatly missed.

A special guy in my life. We attended Precious Blood grade school (possibly going back to the first grade) and Catholic Central High School together. He was a groomsman at my wedding as I was at his. Rest in peace, Chuck.
