Charles Domansky Obituary

DOMANSKY Charles P. Nov. 15, 1936 - Nov. 1, 2008 Chuck was welcomed into heaven on All Saints Day after a valiant battle that followed open-heart surgery in late July. Extreme complications developed, which he could not overcome. A graduate of the University of Toledo with a bachelor's degree in business administration, he also was a member of the Central Catholic High School class of 1954. Among his many enjoyments were his family, especially his six grandchildren, following and admiring their athletic prowess in their various sports. Chuck also spent many years coaching his two children in baseball and softball and enjoying the friendships he built with his coaching colleagues and other parents. Another love of Chuck's was travel with his loving wife of 47 years, Carole. Favorite trips included Nova Scotia, Maine and the Northeast; Washington, D.C. and Gettysburg; as well as numerous day-trips to Amish country, antique stores and craft sales across the beautiful country sides of Ohio, Indiana and Pennsylvania. Through Chuck's 38 years of employment with Libbey Glass, many lasting friendships were developed. He was a regular participant in monthly breakfast gatherings and bi-annual luncheons with fellow Libbey retirees. Chuck is survived by his wife, Carole; son, Edward C. Domansky of Tallahassee, FL; daughter, Jean Hosinski and fiancé, Jay Jenkins, both of Sylvania, Ohio, and grandchildren, Nicholas, Allison, Jason and Andrew Hosinski and Beck and Cole Domansky. Chuck is also survived by brother and sister-in-law, Edward J. and Glenita Domansky of Toledo; brother-in-law, John Molnar, and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, James and Shelley Malcuit of Toledo. Chuck was predeceased by his parents, Walter and Anna Domansky and beloved sister, Irene Molnar (October 15, 2008). The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Dr. Michael Moront and his surgical team; the critical care doctors at The Toledo Hospital: David Epperson, Peter Wilson, Robert May and Ashraf Banoub. A huge thanks also goes to each and every one of the nurses, therapists and support staff at The Toledo Hospital -- the professionalism, love, kindness and gentleness you showed was appreciated more than you know. You all know who you are! Visitation will be Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Ansberg-West Funeral Home. A mass of Christian burial will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at Christ the King Church. The family requests that contributions be made to Christ the King Church or the Sisters of St. Ursula. Online condolences may be left at: www.ansberg-west.com There will never be another you.

My deepest sympathy to Carole and the family. I was one of those who came to know Chuck through working at OI. I didn't work in the Libbey Division but my contacts with Chuck were always cordial and most helpful. He was great to work with.

At Libbey Glass, Chuck was always a great person to call from my position in field sales. I always felt better about what ever was of concern after speaking to Chuck. He had a great sence of humor & a unique way of looking at things. I always knew that he had taken a good look at everying. What ever was in his hands was well handled. He has to be in Heaven as he was well loved by his co-workers.
