Charles PAPPAS Obituary

PAPPAS Charles Charles Pappas departed from this earth on Thursday, April 21, 2011 surrounded by his loving family. He valiantly fought cancer without complaint for the past 2 and a half years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Angeline Pappas and brother, John Pappas. He enjoyed a good round of golf, NY Yankee and Mud Hens baseball and afternoon naps with his grandson, Charlie. Charles worked 40 years in the grocery business starting at Joseph's Centre Market and Foodtown, Pharm and Spartan Stores. Charles was a proud Woodward High School graduate and member of Holy Trinity Creek Orthodox Cathedral. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Pamela; son, Jeffrey (Jennifer) Russell; grandson, Charles Patrick Russell; many wonderful lifelong friends; his beloved dogs and sister-in-law, Lee Pappas. Services will be 11 AM Tuesday at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral. The family will receive friends from 2-8 PM Monday at the Ansberg-West Funeral Home, 3000 Sylvania Avenue, where Trisagion prayers will be recited at 7 PM. Any tributes may be made in the form of contributions to the church, Hospice of Northwest Ohio or the Humane Society. Chuck's family would like to give heartfelt thanks to his doctors, nurses and caregivers. Chuck will always be greatly missed by his family and friends and will be remembered for being a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend.
