Christopher J. Chris "Sugar Bear" Hutchins

Christopher Hutchins Obituary

HUTCHINS Christopher J. Chris "Sugar Bear" Hutchins, age 47, went home to be with our Lord early Saturday morning on May 20, 2006. Chris was the youngest of three children and the only son of Christopher and Ella Hutchins. He was born in Toledo, Ohio where he resided until his death. He worked as an electrical designer at SSOE, Inc. and AVCA, Inc. during his career. He played as a musician in "Westbound Extension Band" and "Hearts of Fire Band". Chris earned his nickname "Sugar Bear" because of the smooth and sweet sounds he produced when playing his guitar. He performed at numerous venues and for various fund raisers in Toledo and surrounding areas, as well as locations in Michigan. Chris was preceded in death by his father. Left to cherish memories of Chris are his mother, Ella Hutchins; daughter, Kristalyn Hutchins; sisters, Sherre Ellis and Jenise Jones; "special brother", Jimmy Ellis Jr.; "special friend", Patti; nephews, Jim and Jeron Ellis and Clarence and Chris Jones and many relatives, friends, and fellow musicians. The wake and funeral service will take place at House of Day Funeral Service Chapel, 2550 Nebraska Ave., Toledo, OH on Saturday, May 27, 2006. The wake will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by the funeral at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery. The family wishes to extend special thanks to our friends, the MICU at Toledo Hospital, the staff at Heartland of Waterville, and the pastor and members of Open Door Christian Church. Memorial tributes in Chris' honor may be made to Open Door Christian Church, 5960 Angola Rd., Toledo, OH 43615.

I would like to send my prayers out to the family of Chris. I know it's hard to lose the ones we love. Chris was a true friend to those that knew him. We had work together for many years and had share some good times I enjoyed his musical talent. I pray that the family embraces God's love during your time of sorrow.

Dear Hutchinson Family,

I am sorry to hear of the loss of your Son, Brother, Father.

No time on earth is long enough to share with those we love or to prepare our hearts for good-bye. May time soften the pain until all that remains is the comfort of precious memories and the love shared.

Keeping you in my daily prayers and wishing you much peace.

With my Deepest Sympathies,

Melinda (Brent Robinson’s Sister-in Law)
