Craig Jacobs Obituary

Craig S. Jacobs

Craig S. Jacobs, 70, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on October 24, 1950 in Toledo to Samuel and Janina (Glowacki) Jacobs.

Craig was an active alumni of Central Catholic High School, staying in touch with several of his classmates, and most recently organizing reunion golf outings. Craig had an over 40-year career in the automotive sales industry, retiring as the general sales manager from the Taylor Automotive Group. He cherished the lifelong relationships he nurtured with his clients. His family was very grateful he was able to retire and enjoy life and several rounds of golf a day. He was very proud of his work with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, serving on the local board of ALSAC, the fundraising arm of St. Jude's. Craig was a Toledo spokesperson for the Dream House giveaway.

He was a beloved member of Stone Oak Country Club. He enjoyed coaching and mentoring CYO basketball, and Maumee Valley Country Day School golf and basketball. Craig was an avid Ohio State football fan, cheering his team on every game day.

Surviving is his wife, best friend and golf partner of 38 years, Deb; his 4 children, Corey, Ben (Halley) Jacobs, Lindsay (Zack) Kwasniak, and Alex (Kate) Jacobs; 4 grandchildren, Ella, Owen, Cody and Graham. Craig's brothers; Sam (Barb) and Jan Jacobs. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Tony; and sister in law, Barb. Known to many as Uncle Craig or The Godfather, he was loved and will be greatly missed. His family meant the world to him, and he adored his time with all of his children and grandchildren.

Friends may visit at the Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 S. Reynolds Rd. on Thursday, July 1 from 2:00- 8:00 p.m. The funeral will be held at Coyle on Friday, July 2 at 10:00 a.m. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Craig was an amazing man. My time knowing him was short, but coaching against him in basketball was some of the most fun I´ve had. He would always give me a pat on the back of a quick hug whenever I would see him. Craig was my reminder to slow down and enjoy the moment. Prayers to the family.

I am heartbroken. Craig was such a great guy, and our class reunion committee had such wonderful times planning our 50th CCHS get together. He always had a smile on his face and was so gracious. The photos he shared of himself with his loving family say it all. He lived life to the fullest and will be sorely missed by so many people who cared deeply for him. God bless you, Craig. Rest In Peace.
