Cynthia A.
Cynthia A. Roecker, of Genoa, died at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Toledo on Sunday morning, June 12, 2016, due to complications following a diagnosis of cancer. She was 63. Cindy was born December 27, 1952 to Milton W. and Hilda M. (Dorfmeyer) Roecker. She graduated from Genoa High School and from Northwest Ohio School of Practical Nursing, working in the nursing field for many years. Cindy became a registered respiratory therapist, working at Riverside Hospital in Toledo in that capacity,
until the hospital's closing. She also worked as a polysomnographic technician working at various sleep apnea clinics and retired from the ProMedica group at Bay Park Community Hospital.
Cindy loved the Ohio State Buckeyes, especially the OSU marching band. She enjoyed playing the flute in the Genoa American Legion Post #324 Legion Band. She also
enjoyed playing Bunko with her many friends.
She is survived by her brother, Gary (Jill) Roecker of Battle Creek, MI; sister-in-law, Karen Roecker of Monroe, MI; five very special nephews, Dr. Kurt Roecker, Dr. Andrew (Heather) Roecker, Dr. Anthony (Greta) Roecker, Spencer (Kristi) Roecker and Christopher (Annik) Roecker; and eight very special great- nieces and nephews, Haley, Caroline, Katelyn, Grady, Nina, Xavier, Olivia and Viggo. Cindy also leaves several aunts, uncles and many dear cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Edward and Marie Dorfmeyer and John and Ida Roecker; her parents, Milton and Hilda Roecker and brother, Edward Roecker.
Cindy was blessed to
have maintained friendships with many of her childhood friends throughout her life, many of whom have been there to help during Cindy's illness through thick and thin, Jolene, Emily, Deanna, Darla, Margo, Mary, Brenda, Rhonda, Sharon, Lynn, Kay, Betty, Terri, Doris, Sharon, Diane, Sandy, June, Janet, Winnie, Rex, John and Alvin and too many more to mention. Most of all, Cindy leaves behind her feline baby, friend and companion, “Bill.”
A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 16, 2016, at Solomon Lutheran Church, Woodville. Immediately following the service, family and friends are invited to share their stories of Cindy at a luncheon to be held in the church hall.
