Daniel Foster Obituary

Daniel J. Foster

September 25, 1958 - November 22, 2022

Daniel J. "Dan" Foster, age 64, of South Toledo, passed away peacefully under hospice care on November 22, 2022. He was born on September 25, 1958, to James and Nancy Foster. He attended E.L. Bowsher High School class of '76 then began his 20 plus year career at Port Lawrence Title. Dan was a sports enthusiast who spent 20 years as the announcer of the S.T.A.R.S. football league and an umpire of many years. He enjoyed spending time with family, hanging with friends at the 14th Ward, attending the Tri-State Triathlon, and being a tv/movie critic. Dan knew how to make everyone laugh; his clever witty personality will be greatly missed by all. He was preceded in death by both parents; wife, Shirley; son, Jonathan; and sister, Kim.

Dan is survived by his sister, Lee Anne; daughters, Lauren (Ray) Worthington, Kelly (Cody) Wealleans; grandchildren, Savahna (Ben), Jon, Kennedy, Elliot, Lucas, Madison; great grandchildren, Jackson and Augustus.

Family and friends may gather on Saturday, December 3rd, from 2:00-7:00 p.m. at The American Legion Post 553, 206 S. Byrne Rd., Toledo, OH 43615. A tribute will take place at 4:00 p.m. to celebrate and honor his life.

Dan was one of the nicest people I´ve ever known but he never allowed that to make him boring! He was someone who truly enjoyed the humor in life and did his best to share it with others. I am just one of the many, many, MANY people who will miss him. My deepest condolences to his daughters, grandchildren, sister, and all those who loved Dan.

I worked with Danny for all of those years at Port Lawrence. He had a wit and sense of humor that was unmatched. For the majority of the PLT parties, Danny was the MC - who could ever forget his rendition of "Bad to the Bone". He had such a love of everyone and was so much fun to be around. I would often tell him that he missed his true calling - either one heck of a baseball player or a stand up comedian. He truly will be missed by his close knit family and friends - if there's any consolation, he'll be with his beloved Shirley and Jonathon. Extending my sincerest condolences to the entire Foster family.

I loved Danny. I started at Port Lawrence in 72, Danny came in 77. He made all of us laugh, it was like a family, none of us left. Not a dull day. We the Port Lawrence family will miss him greatly.
