Daniel D. Ralston

Daniel D. Ralston, 72 years old, of Curtice, Ohio, passed away on March 29, 2025, at The Landings of Oregon Nursing Home. Dan built a grandfather clock in Macomber HS- he was a very talented craftsman in many disciplines. Dan enlisted in the Navy, serving as a proud parachute rigger on the USS Roosevelt Aircraft Carrier. There, he learned to sew just about anything. Dan was employed at Toledo Hospital as a plumber, retiring after 38 years in 2017. Dan loved music- the louder, the better! His first concert as a teenager was James Brown at the Toledo Sports Arena. Assisting with a Buddy Rich concert at Portside was a thrill for him. Family and friends have fond memories of fishing with Dan on Lake Erie. Cowboy shows were always on his TV. Dan loved Corvettes and Cadillacs. Notably his 2017 Cadillac CTS V and 1975 Eldorado convertible.

Dan is survived by his sister, Nancy Gallat (Brian); niece, Jen Redden (Steve); great-niece, Cecilia Alice; many cousins; and his girlfriend, Susan Schick, who cared for Dan for 13 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Alice Ralston; also, Dan's loyal canine friend, Mocha Latte.

Instead of flowers, donate in Dan's memory to the Toledo Humane Society. Interment will be at the Ottawa Hills Memorial Park, 4210 Central Ave, Toledo, OH, on Friday, May 2, 2025, at 1 p.m. Meet at the main gate. There will be a gathering after TBA. Thank you to family, friends, and neighbors who have been so kind. Dan was a loyal friend who would do anything for the people he loved.
