Daniel Wisniewski Obituary

WISNIEWSKI Daniel J. "Dziadz" Daniel J. Wisniewski "Dziadz" passed away peacefully Sunday, January 14, 2007, surrounded by his loving family after a brief illness. Daniel was born on September 10, 1930, to Stanley and Frances (Niedzialkowski) Wisniewski in Toledo, Ohio. He worked at Willys Jeep from 1950-1952 prior to serving proudly with the 3rd Battalion, 2nd Marines, A Company from 1952-1953. Shortly after completion of his military duty, Daniel married Marcella Tucholski on October 17, 1953. He then went to work for Libbey Owens Ford Glass Company until retiring in 1980 because of injury. Daniel enjoyed trips with his wife to Las Vegas and to Windsor. He especially enjoyed his 50th anniversary cruise to Alaska and his grandson's wedding cruise to the Southern Caribbean. "Dziadz" was proud of each of his grand and great-grandchildren and enjoyed the times he spent following their many activities. Daniel was a loving husband, father, and "Dziadz". His greatest joy was spending time with his family. Daniel was a quiet man, but had a great sense of humor and a big heart. These qualities and his love for people are what made him special. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Marcella; brother, Leo (Alice) Wisniewski; sister, Jane Kolanko; devoted children, Michael (Mary), Kathleen (Douglas) Wright, Bob (Ann), Diane (Fred) Amstel, Joanne Belair, Karen (Jeff) Schmidt; 20 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Stanley, Zygmund, Zenith and Edward; sisters, Mary, Irene and Helen and great-grandson, Alec Anson. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2-8 p.m. in the Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114-128 East Alexis Rd. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Tom Willhardt officiating. The Lucas County Burial Corps will conclude with a military committal service in Toledo Memorial Park Cemetery. The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the staff at Orchard Villa in Oregon and the doctors, nurses and technicians of Bay Park Community Hospital ICU. Memorial tributes may be given to the American Lung Association of Ohio, Mail Processing Center, 226 St. Rt. 61, Norwalk, OH 44857 or to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 East River Rd., Perrysburg, OH 43551. Marcy,
I was so saddened to hear the news of Dan's death. I will miss his infectous smile and mild manner. I pray that in the days to come that you find comfort in knowing that all the suffering we do here on earth can't compare to the absolute happiness we will have in heaven. We should not fear death because it cannot hurt us, since, "to be away from the body "is to be "at home with the Lord" (2Corinthians 5:8)
May Gods peace be with you and your family at this sad time.

Marcy, we are so sorry for the loss of your husband Dan. He was a wonderful person and we will miss him greatly. He made us smile and was always a pleasure to talk with. He was fun to tease. He also had fun teasing everyone else. For this we will never forget him. Now, he is in a better place without having to suffer. You are a wonderful person as well. Keep your head up high and we are always here to support you. Love always, Mike and Deanna Ritson
