Darlene Kilpatrick Obituary

Darlene Georgevich Kilpatrick

Darlene Georgevich Kilpatrick, 68, of Waterville, Ohio passed away October 5, 2018 at the Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Toledo. Darlene was born May 1, 1950 in Toledo to George Anastas and Mary (Uzelac) Georgevich. She was a Devilbiss High School Class of 1968 graduate. On April 17, 1971 she married Frank Kilpatrick in Toledo.

Darlene loved spending time with her grandkids and family. She enjoyed her many adventures with her 'flip flops' Deena, Kelli, Sarah and Callie. She worked for over 12 years at Midwest Tapes and worked overtime as much as possible because she loved her job and everyone she worked with. Before working at Midwest she was a "Quarter Lady" at Rogers and Bowsher High Schools.

Darlene is survived by her husband of 47 years, Frank; her daughter, Kelli Ann Kilpatrick of Waterville; her granddaughters, Sarah and Callie; her siblings, Deena (Fred) Brueshaber, Dimitri (Carol) Georgevich, Dan (Maureen) Georgevich; her sisters-in-law, Nancy (Bob) Parker and Kathy Kilpatrick Couch and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and sisters, Diane Henderson and Donna Shaughnessy.

Visitation for Darlene will be Sunday, October 7 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Peinert Dunn Funeral Home, 6603 Providence St., Whitehouse, Ohio. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

In Darlene's memory, donations are encouraged to the Hospice of Northwest Ohio, or the American Cancer Society.

October 6, 2018

I am deeply saddened by the loss of an amazing woman, Darlene Kilpatrick (Georgivich), who I always considered my second mom. She was my mother's best friend, they met in high school and had one of those amazing soul binding friendships that lasted a lifetime. They once shared a story on how they broke the tooth of the Sabretooth tiger, Divilbiss' mascot. These two women spent their entire lives sharing every millstone.

I grew up knowing her, spending my summers hanging out pool side with their daughter Kelli, while our mothers laughed and talked about life and their husband drank, laughed and did whatever husbands do. I cannot think of my childhood without thinking of Darlene she was always there, always around. She was and always will be family to me a bond that does not need to share blood. And throughout my life I always knew that no matter how old I was if I ever needed anything she would be there.

Back in January my father died suddenly of a heart attack and although my mother, Christine Harloff, Darlene's best friend passed away 10 years prior she was there for me, and so was her extended family. My life will be forever entwined with the Georgovich family. My heart goes out to Darlene's husband Frank, their daughter Kelli, their grandchildren and all of Darlene's siblings. The world will not be the same without the constant smile and glow that Darlene gave off every time she entered a room.

I am not a very religious person neither were these two best friends, but I imagine them together embracing and catching up all that had been lost between them these last 10 years. For they had a friendship that breaks all bounds and will last far beyond eternity.

You will be forever missed Dar
