David



David Bartus, 60, passed from this life on August 16, 2012, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. He attended Oakdale Elementary School and Waite High School, Class of 1970. He bowled on leagues at the Toledo Sports Center. He had a passion for cooking and playing his guitar. He retired from the City of Toledo Division of Solid Waste.

David will be remembered for his quick wit, a laugh-a-minute stories, and avid love of the blues and rock 'n roll music.

David is survived by his wife of 24 years, Amy (Anistik) Bartus; daughter, Cristey; brothers, Steven (Janet), John (Marilyn), and Michael; sisters, Suzanne Ricci, and Cheryl Bartus. He is preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Judith.

Family and friends may visit on Sunday, August 19, 2012, from 2-8 p.m. at Freck Funeral Chapel, corner of Wynn and Pickle Rds., Oregon, Ohio.

A heartfelt thanks to the doctors and nurses of St. Charles Hospital who took such good care of David during his illness. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions to Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg, or Helping Hands of St. Louis in Toledo.

He loved to quote Jimi Hendrix: "I'm the one that's got to die when it's time for me to die, so let me live my life the way I want to." And he did.
