David Myers Obituary

MYERS David L. David L. Myers, 51, of Toledo, passed away on the evening of Sunday, October 19, 2008, at The University of Toledo Medical Center following a brief illness. He was born in Toledo, Ohio to his parents, Dale L. and Barbara A. (Reucher) Myers on February 6, 1957. Dave grew up in Rossford, Ohio and excelled at sports in his grade school and high school years. While he enjoyed all sports, his passion was football. After an outstanding high school career, he continued with the game at the University of Toledo and played for the Rockets in the late 1970's under then-coach Jack Murphy. He made some good friends during his college years and truly enjoyed the camaraderie that athletics brought to him. He leaves two special friends from childhood, Rick Kovach and Ed Donovan. The true loves of his life were his children and his first born granddaughter, born in September. He leaves to cherish his memory, sons, Thomas and Andrew; daughters, Mallory (Jonte), and Kelsey, and granddaughter, Brooklynn, all of Toledo. Affectionately known as "Big Dave" or "Muzzy", he is also survived by his father, Dale (Patricia) of Leesburg, Florida; brothers, Thomas (Laurie) of Perrysburg, and Steven (Janet); sisters, Nancy Grinonneau and Patti Myers, all of Rossford. Uncle Dave also had several loving nieces and nephews who will miss his jokes and sense of humor. Dave was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara; nephew, Michael Fresenius Jr., and his maternal and paternal grandparents. Visitation and services will be at Sujkowski Funeral Home located on Lime City Road in Rossford, Ohio. The family will receive visitors on Thursday, October 23, 2008, from 1 - 7 p.m. A memorial service will be at the funeral home that evening beginning at 7:30 p.m. with Father Edward Littelmann. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cherry Street Mission. To send a personal message to the family, please go to: www.sujkowskirossford.com

To the Family,

I pray that God will provide you comfort and the strength of family during this time as you memoralize your son & brother. No words can really soften the blow his passing brings. But know that David was a child of God who loves him unconditionally and receives him into His Kingdom. That one day we shall all be reunited together in a place where there shall be no more tears, sadness or feelings which bring hurt. Patti and Nancy, please accept my condolences with a confidence which can only come from the heart. Your friend, Jose Limon, Jr.

The righteous perish, and no one ponders it in his heart; devout men are taken away, and no one understands that the righteous are taken away to be spared from evil. Those who walk uprightly enter into peace; they find rest as they lie in death.
