Delphine Purnia Obituary
Delphine Barbara Purnia, age 92, of Toledo, passed away on Sunday, December 6, 2020 at Lakes of Sylvania surrounded by her loving family. Delphine was born on September 16, 1928 in Toledo to Jim and Clara (Nowak) Toda. She was employed by the Libbey Glass Company in Toledo for 32 years, retiring from the packing department in 1989. Delphine enjoyed spending time with her family, knitting, and crocheting. She also loved visiting casinos. She will be greatly missed by those who loved her.
Delphine is survived by her sons, Daniel (Sue) and Thomas Jankowski; daughters, Anne (Michael) Good and Margaret (Kevin) Chapman; and stepsons, George (Brenda) and Joe Purnia. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Clara; husband, Harold Purnia; stepdaughter, Yvonne Bush; sisters, Patricia and Betty; and brothers, Donald, Richard, Bob, and Edward Toda.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 10 from 4-7 p.m. at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Rd. with recitation of the rosary at 5 p.m. Private interment will be in Toledo Memorial Park, Sylvania, Ohio.
Those wishing to pay their respects should plan a short visit, wear a mask and observe social distancing guidelines. Memorial donations may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Condolences may be shared online at
