LEADY Captain Dennis Captain Dennis Leady, born November 7 1957, died unexpectedly April 9, 2012, in N. Ft. Myers, FL. He is survived by the love of his life, Sherry (Barber). Born in Toledo, OH to Jim and Rose Marie, Dennis devoted his 54 years to being a loving father, grandfather, brother, and uncle; fishing legend, golfing maniac, and chef extraordinaire; and most of all a wonderful husband. He is also survived by daughter, Renee (Nicholas) Phillips; son, Michael (Crista) Leady; stepchildren, Alison (John) Franco, Steven, and Holly Kowalski; grandchildren, Jacob, Alex, Kenneth, Miira, and Drake; brothers, Steve and Doug, and five nieces. Dennis spent most of his working years as a manager at Kroger and a machinist and estimator at Wauseon Machine. As an avid fisherman Dennis lived to fish and worked to live out his dreams. Upon retirement in Florida he was able to do both. With Sherry next to his side, he came out of retirement and turned his passion for the rod and reel into a successful business venture donning the Captain's hat and creating Action for Anglers, a professional chartering service. After cutting his teeth pulling 'the biggest bass you've ever seen' from the Maumee River, Lake Erie, and Mud Lake in Michigan, Capt. 'D' navigated and mastered the waterways around Sanibel Island in the Gulf of Mexico, finding all the sweet spots on his boat, The Naughty Girl. The funeral service will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 104 W. Broadway, Maumee, OH on Monday, April 16, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Whitehouse Cemetery.
