Diane Brown Obituary
Diane Brown
1951-2025
Diane Marie Brown, 73, of Holland, Ohio, passed away peacefully in her home on August 7, 2025, with her daughter by her side, leaving this world the same way she lived, on her terms.
Born on August 19, 1951, in Erie, Pennsylvania, to Lawrence and Roberta Brown, Diane moved to Ohio in 1955, where she built a life marked by strength, independence, and unwavering devotion to those she loved.
Diane proudly served her country from 1978 to 1980 as a Military Police officer in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany, and was honorably discharged. She later dedicated 35 years to Toledo Stamping, now GT Technologies, where she was a steadfast leader and advocate in the United Auto Workers Local 12. Serving as Secretary/Treasurer, and later Chairperson, she worked tirelessly to protect retirement and healthcare benefits for her fellow workers, earning the respect of her colleagues and community.
Outside of her career, Diane found joy in life's simple pleasures: playing euchre with family, tending her garden, reading from her cherished library, and finding new purpose for old things. A proud patriot and strong advocate for women's rights, she stood firmly for her beliefs while showing kindness, loyalty, and fierce love for her family and friends.
As a single parent, Diane instilled resilience, courage, and determination in her daughter, sharing an unbreakable bond that endured through life's challenges. To be loved by Diane was to be genuinely seen and fiercely protected.
Diane was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Roberta Brown; stepfather, Adam Brumfield; sisters, Linda Hageman and Brenda Ott; brothers-in-law, Thomas Duquette and Skip Hageman; and nephew, Tommy Duquette. She is survived by her daughter, Kali (Gabe) Lovell; granddaughters, Reece and Reagan; sister, Patricia Duquette; niece, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews; and her loyal cat, Binky, who rarely left her side.
In keeping with her generous nature, Diane graciously donated her body to the University of Toledo, College of Medicine and Life Sciences, so that others might learn and benefit. A celebration of life will be held in Holland, Ohio, in the Fall of 2025. Family and friends will gather to honor her legacy, share stories, and remember a life that touched so many.
