Dolores Osinski Obituary

OSINSKI Dolores E. Dolores Eileen Osinski, surrounded by her family, passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord on December 4, 2007. Dolores was born in Toledo on January 15, 1929, to Marie and Leon Lewandowski; and graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1946. She married John Osinski on August 30, 1947, celebrating sixty years of marriage this past summer. Dolores was a past member of St. Clement Church. She brought the Campfire Girls and Bluebird organizations to the parish and served as president of the rosary Altar Society. She was also involved in both Eucharistic and Liturgical ministries. After retirement from the U. S. Postal Service, Dolores and John moved to Liberty Center, Ohio. where they became members of St. Patrick's Church, Providence. At St. Patrick's she continued her service in both Liturgical and Eucharistic ministry. Aside from spending time with her family, Mom loved nothing more than being in the kitchen cooking and baking; her golden rule of the kitchen was "a recipe is only a guide". No one could bake a better or more creative loaf of bread than Mom. She loved to travel and was able to visit Germany and, fulfilling a childhood wish, Norway, as well as extensively in the U. S. visiting family and friends. She was always ready to help family, friends and strangers. Two words that best describe Dolores are caring and sharing. Along with John, her loving husband, Dolores leaves to cherish her memory children, David (Agusta), Diane Domanski, Cynthia Raczko, Carol (Roy) Jacks, Janine (Mike) Williams, Mary (Chris) Demecs, Steven (Mary), John J. (Jean Molitor), Regina, Thomas (Nancy), Elizabeth "Betsy" (Mark) Morgan and Julieanne Ksiazek, twenty grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and brother, Daniel (Jann) Laren. Preceding her in death were her parents, sons, Christopher "Chip" and infant Joseph, and son-in-law, Michael Domanski. Our family wishes to thank Hospice of Fulton County, the staff at Flower Hospital, and Father Anthony Gallagher for the compassion and gentle care given to Mom and to our family. A memorial mass in celebration of Dolores' life will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday December 29, 2007, St. Patrick's Providence Catholic Church, 14010 US 24 W., Grand Rapids, Ohio. Memorials in Dolores' honor may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Northwest Ohio, 2500 N. Reynolds Rd., Toledo, Ohio 43615, The Anne Grady Center, 1525 Eber Road, Holland, Ohio 43528 or Hospice of Williams and Fulton County, 7049 County Road 23, Archbold, Ohio 43502.

My friend gave me a a beautiful Christmas ornament yesterday to remember mom by.
Around the outside of the ornament it says "Merry Christmas From Heaven".
Inscribed in the center it says," I love you all dearly, Now don't shed a tear, I'm spending my Christmas with Jesus this year."
It kind of helps to think of mom that way. I know she would want us to be happy for her in her new home.
I love you mom,
Tom
