Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Ellen was a wonderful and cherished member of Americas 9/11 Memorial Quilts Organization and we are very proud of her work on the 9/11 New York State Courts Memorial Quilt. We know how much Ellen's work with the quilt meant to families and other members of the three New York State Court officers lost on Sept 11th. Ellen's work of art will be preserved for decades to come in the New York State Courts Bldg., as a permanent memorial to heroes lost. Ellen had an enormous heart and felt deeply for families who lost loved ones in the greatest attack in history on American soil. She understood the importance of keeping alive the memory, life and legacy of all who were lost that day. She simply knew what needed to be done and partnered with us to get it done. As the oldest member of our organization, Ellen brought such a great sense of value and meaning to our mission. We very much admire and will miss Ellen's enthusiasm and eagerness to do for others. On behalf of Americas 9/11 Memorial Quilts, its members and Sept 11th families, we send our deepest condolences. Rest in peace Ellen for your work here is complete and you now reside in the arms of the Lord forever.

Dear Gretchen, Wendy, and Melissa, I was so sad when my mother called me yesterday to tell me of your mother's passing. She was a great lady and I have missed my calls to her and talking about the latest quilt she would be working on. We had many a nice chat about her latest needlework project. Now she is at peace with your Dad. Love your cousin.
