Elmer Blakeman Obituary

BLAKEMAN Elmer "Eddie" Elmer "Eddie" Blakeman of Maumee, Ohio, was taken to be with the Lord on March 17, 2009. Eddie lived a full life which began on August 26, 1922. Eddie served in the United States Marine Corp throughout WWII, where he received an honorable discharge. Eddie was employed as a mechanic early in his career at Pappenhagen Oldsmobile, a trade he carried over as a hobby later on. He loved woodworking of any kind, also a hobby he enjoyed through his final days. Eddie was a member of the American Legion Post in Perrysburg, Ohio, Bethel Lutheran Church of Toledo, Ohio and a former member of Faith Lutheran Church of Lakeland, FL. Eddie is survived by children, Dale (Kay) Huepenbecker of Lakeland, FL, Elizabeth Rutter of Fruita, CO, Karen (Clark Pinney) Timm of Maumee, OH; sister, Mildred Furney; 8 grandchildren and 1 great- grandchild, along with many other friends and family. Eddie was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ruth; parents, Leslie and Alta Blakeman; sisters, Edith (Richard) Reinemyer, Eunice (William) Churchill; brother, Walter Blakeman and grandsons, Jeffery and Jason Huepenbecker. Memorial services will be held for Eddie at Bethel Lutheran Church, 1853 South Ave., Toledo, OH, on Saturday, March 21 at 11 a.m. Arrangements made by the Maison - Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home and Crematory, Maumee.
