Frank URBANIAK Obituary

URBANIAK Frank S. Frank S. Urbaniak, 87, of Toledo, passed away on December 10, 2009. He was born on September 25, 1922, to Michael and Mary (Wojcinski) Urbaniak in Toledo. Frank worked for 35 years in sales and marketing for Tiedtke's and also worked as an order clerk for Bostwick Braun. He was the President of the Tiedtke's Old Timers Association. A devout Catholic, Frank was a member of the former St. Stanislaus and St. Anthony Parishes, St. Pius X and presently St, Hyacinth Parish. He sang in the choirs at all his churches, sang in the combined Polish Choir and was a very active parishioner. At St. Stanislaus he was the Sacristan, maintenance man, did laundry for the Priests and was the last one to lock the door when the parish closed. Frank was a Boy Scout leader and participated in just about every event at his parishes. He cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren, whether on Zoo outings, Children's Wonderland or any event he could support them at. Frank loved to bake and cook and shared his goodies, especially Paczki with many. He was a loving father, Dzia-Dzia and friend to all. Frank will be dearly missed by his sons, Thomas (Patricia) and Dennis (Mary); grandsons, Erick (Beth), Matthew (Jenica), Daniel and Michael and sisters-in-law, Delphine and Rita Urbaniak. He enjoyed and was loved by all his many nieces and nephews and extended family. Frank was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 45 years Marie and his brothers and sisters, Joe, Theresa, John, Edward and Helen. Family and friends may visit at the W.K. Sujkowski & Son Funeral Home, 3838 Airport Hwy., on Sunday from 2-8pm, with a recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, December 14, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at St. Hyacinth Church at 11:00am., with Fr. Gerald Knueven officiating. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Oblates of St. Francis deSales or Sisters of Notre Dame.

Frank Urbaniak, my uncle, emulated and displayed the love of Jesus Christ throughout his life. As we struggle to look through our curtain of tears, we may glimpse the departed soul of Frank Urbaniak, resting in the loving arms of our Lord.

My father and I both worked with Frank at Tiedtke's. He was a great person to work with, very dedicated to his work, his faith, and to his family. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.
