Gary Martin Grime

Gary Martin Grime, age 81, of Maumee, OH passed away unexpectedly on October 21, 2022.

He was born to Schuyler and Rhea (Neuhouser) Grime on September 3, 1941 in Wauseon, OH. He grew up in West Unity, OH or "God's country" as Gary called it and was a graduate of Hilltop High School. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice at the University of Toledo and his MBA at Tiffin University. Gary proudly served his country in the U.S. National Guard. He started his career with the Toledo Police Department and then became the Director of Security at Toledo Edison-Davis Besse. Fy He took great pride in his strong work ethic. After his retirement, Gary was not one to sit still. He was an Investigator at Corporate Intelligence and then pursued his second career as Chief Ranger/Director of Safety and Security at Metroparks Toledo. Community service was very important to him. He was a member of the American Society of Industrial Security, the Jaycees, Mobile Meals, coordinated the food pantry at All Saints Catholic Church, taught firearms at the Progressive Fishing Association where served as Range Master. He also served with the Wood County Sheriff's Auxiliary and as a Lucas County Sheriff's Office Special Deputy. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed running, biking and fishing. Physical fitness was important to him and he could be seen regularly at the local YMCA. He loved all animals, especially his horse, Lance, his dogs, Kaiser and Fawn, special first cat, Charm, and Yowie the Snow Shoe and his bonfire companion, Barney. Gary had many other interests. He loved corvettes, owning 5 throughout his life. He also was known for his love of pizza and candy!

He was preceded in death by his parents. Gary is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Cindy Siefert; daughters, Tracey (Steve) Edwards, Michele (Kelly) Kriner; grandchildren, Nicholas Edwards, Dana and Delanie Kriner; brothers, Doug (Jackie Gabriel) and Tom Grime; and his beloved black cat, Jade.

A Funeral Mass was held on Thursday, October 27th at All Saints Catholic Church, 628 Lime City Rd., Rossford, OH 43460 at 10:30 a.m., where he was an active member. Interment was private.
