I would like to send condolences to the Heckel family. Gary will be deeply missed by all of us that cared dearly for him. Gary wasn't only my dad but a true life savor as he rushed me to the hospital to save my life in a truely life or death matter. There has been a lot of good times spent mushroom hunting, fishing and just kidding around , he was a true role model for all us kids to follow. Not only will I and my wife but his grand kids will miss him dearly. May he rest in peace.

My condolences to Gary's mother. I was Gary's daughter-in-law but he treated me like a daughter. He was "Papa Heckel" to my children, Kevin and Katie McKeever. I watched him help to raise ten children with love and humor. We will remember the funny little tricks he played. like slowly pulling someone's dinner plate across the table with a string. Gary, you were loved by so many. You'll be in our hearts forever. Carmen

To Grandma Rose, Lee and Ralph, My deepest condolences. Your son and brother was indeed a good man! He meant a lot to most and he meant the world to some! You may not know Gary as a Dad. I did... He was there to wipe my tears as I learned to ride my first bike. He carried me into the emergency room, I had a broken ankle, for ice skating in the driveway, after he told me not to. He held my head as I cried because that certain boy broke my heart. He told me someday he would come. He did, and my Dad (Gary), cried as much as I did, before we took that first step down the isle of the little White Chapel. We both knew what it meant. I love you dad, and am so very greatfull for all you have done for me and all you have taught me. I have and will continue to miss our long talks. And the cute little tricks you used to play on me. I am just so sorry for not saying it sooner! I love you and will see you in my dreams. Your Daughter Sherrie

In loving memory of Uncle Gary I want to tell all my family (some of whom I haven't seen in over 25 years) how very much Uncle Gary touched my family in ways that were quiet and gentle but still had a very deep and lasting impact on the lives of children over 40 years ago and later on as adults. Please remember as I will that when the joys are still remembered But the sorrow has quietly gone,There will always be a special place In the hearts of me and my siblings — where love lives on.
May our special memories be a comfort at this time of loss not only to us but to all who were touched by Uncle Gary's life and love.
Blessings of peace and all good things always. Love
