Gene

Gene Beavers, age 84, of Toledo, Ohio passed away with his immediate family by his side on Monday, April 6, 2015, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. He was born to Grover and Lillian (Miller) Beavers on October 31, 1930, in Toledo, Ohio.

Gene retired from the City of Toledo, Forestry Department. He proudly served his country in the Army during the Korean War and was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 3013 and American Legion.

Gene is survived by his loving wife, Alice; son, Gene Kevin (Gigi); daughter, Michelle (Edward) Breitfelder; grandchildren, Rachel (Christopher) Sadlack, Justin (Heather) Breitfelder and Brittany Beavers; many great-grandchildren and extended family, Charles Saunders, Joseph Saunders, Clifford (Sharon) Saunders, Mary Lynn Bick and Marcia Owad. He is also survived by his brother, Glen Beavers; many other grandchildren, nieces and nephews who loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents, and many siblings.

Friends and family will be received at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee, Ohio on Wednesday, April 8, 2015, from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2015, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Highland Memory Gradens, Waterville, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 E. River Road, Perrysburg, Ohio 43551.
