George Ziegler Obituary
George "Neal" Ziegler, age 94, of Toledo, OH, passed away on July 12, 2023, at Ebeid Hospice. George was born on October 9, 1928, in Toledo, Ohio, to the late George and Helen (Roughton) Ziegler.
Neal graduated from Whitmer High School, class of 1946. While at Whitmer, he received the very first Dale Crow Award. He proudly served in the United States Army and was a sergeant in frontline during the Korean War. Neal married Ardis and they had two children. After Ardis passed, he reconnected with his high school sweetheart, June. He and June enjoyed each other's company by going out to eat and working on puzzles. He worked at Dana Technological Center, where he retired after 25 long and dedicated years. During retirement, he was able to do what he loved most, golf. He was a member of Giant Oak Golf Course. He had 7 holes in 1, which he was very proud of. Neal loved his family, especially his grandchildren. The moments spent together were filled with love and laughter. Neal's smile and independent self will be missed by all those who knew him. This isn't goodbye, but we will see you again!
Those left to forever cherish his memory are his two sons, William (Deb) Ziegler and Michael (Kelly) Ziegler; two grandchildren, Juli (Sean) Drake and Bill (Kate) Ziegler; and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ardis (Brown) Ziegler, whom he married in January of 1953; and special friend, June Rupp.
The family would like to extend a thank you to his neighbors and friends whom took care of his yard and cared for him this past year.
Private family services will be held at Toledo Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society or to a charity of your choice.

Bill and Mike, I was so sorry to hear that your dad had died. He was a wonderful man with a sweet smile. Your family and ours were such great neighbors and I have some really fond memories. Our heartfelt condolences go out to you and your families. Nothing is more precious than family.
