Gerald BORER Obituary

BORER Gerald Gerald Borer, age 74, died Tuesday morning, August 24, 2010, in his New Bavaria home. He was born December 16, 1935, in Ottawa, Ohio, to Frank and Loretta (Kern). On October 11, 1958, he married Jeannene Like at Sacred Heart Church, New Bavaria. He was a member of the Amvets, VFW, a charter member of the New Bavaria Fire Department, and Sacred Heart Catholic Church, New Bavaria. He was an army veteran, having served in the Cold War in Germany. In addition to his wife, Jeannene; he is survived by daughters, Suzette Newman, Cheryl Kuhn and Theresa (Terry) Gineman; sons, Scott (Terry) Borer and Jerome Borer. Gerald is also survived by 8 grandchildren. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday, August 26, 2010, at 11:00 am in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, New Bavaria, with Father Stephen Stanbery officiating. Friends and family will be received in the church that morning from 10-11:00 am. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery with military honors accorded by the New Bavaria VFW and Holgate American Legion. Memorial contributions can be made in Gerald's honor to Hospice of Henry County or the donor's choice. Arrangements are entrusted to the Zachrich Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Holgate.
