Glenn Cox Obituary

COX Glenn M. "Corkey" Glenn M. "Corkey" Cox, 72, of Grand Rapids, passed away Friday evening, August 10, 2007, at his home surrounded by family. Corkey was born June 27, 1935, in Toledo, to the late Clay and Mabel (Ely) Cox. He married Rosemary Stockner on October 12, 1957, and she survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Ann (David) Grueshaber, Maumee; a son, Scott (Amy) Cox, Waterville; six grandchildren, Margie, David Jr., and Max Grueshaber, Taylor, Brennan and Kirsten Cox; and three sisters-in-law, Doris Garretson, Neapolis, Vern Cox, Toledo, and Cathryn Cox, Florida. Seven brothers, Donald, Howard, Robert, Harold, Junior, Ralph and his twin, Gene Cox, also preceded him in death. Mr. Cox was a self-employed ceramic tile contractor for more than 50 years, owning and operating Cox Tile. He was a veteran of the United States Army during the Korean War. Corkey was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and Alva N. Sidle Post 232, both in Grand Rapids, V.F.W. Post 3013, Holland, Eagles Aerie 2562, Maumee and the German Benevolent Society. He was an avid traveler. Friends are invited to visit on Monday from 2-9 p.m. in the Wright Funeral Home, Grand Rapids, where Christian wake services will be held at 8:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, August 14, 2007 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 14010 U.S. 24, Grand Rapids. Father F. Anthony Gallagher will preside. Committal services and military rites conducted by the Grand Rapids American Legion will follow at St. Patrick Parish Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Grand Rapids American Legion or the church. Online condolences can be expressed at: www.wrightfuneralhomes.com

Uncle Corkey - you'll truly be missed. Doug and I send our condolences and let Aunt Rosie, Scott and Ann and families know that you're in our thoughts and prayers. Our family memories will be with us forever.
