Gloria F. Cairns

CAIRNS Gloria F. (Carson) Gloria F. (Carson) Cairns, age 65, passed away Saturday, March 24, 2007, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. She was born February 15, 1942, to Roy and Julia Carson in Toledo. Gloria was a graduate of Woodward High School class of 1959 and the St. Vincent School of Nursing in 1962. She married Kenneth William Cairns on October 5, 1963. Gloria worked in the Labor and Delivery department of St. Vincent and Toledo Hospitals, worked for the American Red Cross Blood Bank program for 5 years, in the Emergency Room at Flower Hospital for 9 years, was the Employee Health Coordinator at Flower Hospital for 9 years and served in the medical department at GM Powertrain for 5 years before her retirement. She was a member at Blessed Sacrament Church, St. Clement Church and St. Joseph Church in Maumee at different points throughout her life. She is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Kenneth William Cairns Sr.; children, Kenneth William (Heidi) Cairns Jr., Jeffery Carson (Susan) Cairns, Pamela Sue (Tom) Gilson; grandchildren, William Cairns, Evan Gore, Emma Gore, Everett Gore, Mary Gilson, Rachael Gilson and brother, Jim (Violet) Carson. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Church in Maumee. Friends are invited to visit from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday in the Ansberg-West Funeral Home, 3000 Sylvania Avenue Interment in Toledo Memorial Park.
