Harland Lee Brown ("Harley"), 64, of Estero, Florida, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2022 with his family by his side, after a courageous 16-month battle with cancer.
Born January 30, 1958, in Gibsonburg, Ohio, he was the son of the late Alexander and Edith (Howell) Brown. He met the love of his life, Candace (Candy), on a blind date, introduced by her sister Cindy, over 40 years ago. They married shortly thereafter and have been together ever since.
He spent 38 years as a respiratory therapist at Flower Hospital, where he truly loved caring for each patient that crossed his path. In 2016, Harley retired early and moved to Estero, Florida with his wife and two daughters, who were his pride and joy.
He enjoyed boating, racing horses, metal detecting, and playing craps, but above all, he loved spending time with his family. Harley was an ultimate optimist and enjoyed living life to the fullest.
Harley was an incredible father, and devoted husband. He considered anyone he met to be a lifelong friend and truly loved meeting new people.
Harley is survived by his loving wife, Candace; daughters, Alexis Brown, and Carlianne (Philip) Peake; and brother, Michael (Kathy) Brown; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 3 -7 p.m., Thursday, August 18, 2022 at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman), Temperance, MI., with funeral services beginning at 7 p.m. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or a charity of the donor's choice.
