Harold CONOVER Obituary

CONOVER Harold Elden Harold Elden Conover, 94, a resident of Toledo, OH, for over thirty years and long time member of Our Saviour Lutheran Church in Toledo, passed away on Monday, August 30, 2010, in Hospice House of The Villages, Florida. He was married 72 years to Florence M. Conover, until her death last year. In 1954, Harold was awarded a glass "Key to the City of Toledo" for his role as Santa Claus for many years in the city and his community. He was a leader in Washington Township school activities, the local council of Boy Scouts of America, Y's Men International, and the West Toledo YMCA. He was an engineer at Surface Combustion Corporation for thirteen years and Scholz Homes for two years. Harold is survived by one brother; a daughter, Joann Conover Schultz, and her husband, William; a son, James H. Conover, and his wife, the former Carol Heil of Toledo; four grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. Harold's sister and his parents also preceded him in death. Interment will be in the Memorial Garden of Hope Lutheran Church in The Villages, FL.
