Helen H.
Helen H. Stark, 86, of Temperance, MI, died Saturday, August 16, 2014, in her home surrounded by her loving family. Born January 8, 1928, in Dundee, MI, she was the daughter of Austin and Emma (Comsteller) Jacobs. A 1945 graduate of Dundee High School, she married Maurice J. Stark on September 11, 1948. He preceded her in death on March 6, 1994. Helen was a self employed housekeeper/caregiver for 53 years, retiring in 2011. In her younger days, she worked for the former National Supply in Toledo and had also been a soda jerk at an ice cream parlor in Dundee, MI. Helen was a charter member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Temperance, MI, where she was active in the Ladies Guild, Keen-Agers, and CYO advisor. She was also a member of Bedford Senior Center and the Ladies Aux. of the V.F.W., 3925, Erie, MI. Helen enjoyed playing cards, visiting friends and relatives, a good dinner out, attending family events, embroidery, reading and was a Wheel of Fortune fan.
She is survived by her loving children, Barbara (Dave) Ziesmer, Randy (Pat) Stark, Maureen Stark and Doug (Laura) Stark; grandchildren, Chad (Liz) Ziesmer, Gretchen (Chad) Gustwiller, Kara (Tom) Sawarynski, Colleen (Rick) Mestdagh, Kaitlin, Eli, Austin, Isaac, Emma and Oliver Stark; great-grandchildren, Davis and Amelia Ziesmer, Millie Gustwiller, Helaine "Lainey" and Hadley Sawarynski and Elise Mestdagh; brother, Kenneth Jacobs and numerous nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by 4 brothers and 4 sisters.
Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m. Monday, August 18, 2014, at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman), Temperance, MI, where a scripture service will be held Monday at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, August 19, 2014, at 12 noon at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, 8330 Lewis Avenue, Temperance, MI, where she will lie in state after 11 a.m. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to the church or Hospice of Northwest Ohio. The family wishes to thank Dianna, Tina and Marsha for the loving care given to Helen during her illness.

Aunt Helen was a great lady, she lived a full life with a wonderful family. I will remember her fondly. Sorry I could not be there to say this in person. You have my deepest sympathy.
