Herbert "Herb" Fultz

Herbert E. Fultz, age 75, of Monclova, OH, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2024, while surrounded by his family.

Herb was born to Harry and Cecile Mae (Howe) Fultz on November 9, 1948. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from the University of Toledo. Herb married the love of his life, Diane McLellan, in 1978 and together they raised 3 wonderful children. He started the Whitehurst Company in November 1983 with his partner, James McInnis and together they developed numerous multi-family housing projects over the years. Herb was one of the most prominent builders of houses, apartments, and condominiums in the Toledo area and Cottonwood, AZ. He had a passion for collecting cars and Lake Erie where he loved boating and spending time on Middle Bass Island with family and friends. He also enjoyed spending his winters in Florida. Herb was a dedicated family man and loved taking trips and spending time with his family and friends.

Herb was preceded in death by his parents; son, Ian; 3 brothers and 3 sisters. He is survived by his loving wife, Diane; daughters, Christina (Todd) Ely, Renee (Lucas Guy) Fultz; grandchildren, Jake, Talon, Ryan (Kelly), Taner and another grandchild on the way; sisters, Joyce Johnson and Terria Lowe; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Friends may visit at the Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 S. Reynolds Rd., on Wednesday, January 10th, from 3:00-7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the Funeral Home, on Thursday, January 11th, at 11:00 a.m. Interment St. Rose Cemetery.

Herb always said he was immortal, and he will continue to be immortal in the hearts of all who knew him. He was the best there ever was.

Diane, I am so sorry to hear about Herb. He was the best boss I ever had. I loved the talks when he would tell long stories about his experiences in the business over the years in my office at Heathbriar. He was very much respected in the industry. I have nothing but praise when I talk about him and how great he took care of his properties and employees. I just heard of his passing today and am just shocked. My prayers go out to you and your family.

Herb and Diane are our neighbors on middle bass. I can´t imagine looking across my yard and not seeing him on a tractor or doing some sort of work on his yard. He would always stop what he was doing and say hello when we arrived. He was constantly helping us without being asked (like putting sand bags on our door for a flood because he knew we were not on the island). He will be deeply missed.
