May 10, 1928 - October 14, 2022
Horace Elmer Huse was born in Modesto, CA, to Horace Elery and Estelle (Stetler) Huse. He and 2 brothers were raised on a 20 acre ranch. He graduated from Ashland Theological Seminary in 1953 and began his 25-year career in the First Brethren and later Church of the Brethren, then a hospital chaplain until 1994. He then volunteered in charity-related ministries and missions and for 13 years was a bee keeper at Toledo Grows. His love for God suffused his life in every aspect.
He is survived by JoAnn (Hanna), his wife of 69 years; daughters, Janet Huse and Barbara (Terrence) Yearty; granddaughter, Alexia Yearty; grandsons, Jake, Mitchell and Ethan Huse; his brother, Robert Huse (Yvonne); and sister-in-law, Dorothy Huse (Donald); along with many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brother, Donald and son, Brian.
A memorial service will be November 5 at 11:00 a.m. at Reed Chapel at Ohio Living Swan Creek, 5916 Cresthaven Lane, Toledo, OH. Masks are recommended. To leave condolences please visit Walterfuneralhome.com.
