Jacob Burchett Obituary
Jacob "Ed"
Jacob E. Burchett of Erie, Michigan passed away at Flower Hospital on Friday, January 25, 2013, at the age of 72. He was born to Robert and Elizabeth (Talbert) Burchett in Lancer, Kentucky on December 10, 1940. Ed was a proud veteran serving his country as a jet mechanic in the US Air Force. He also was a master mechanic and was employed for General Motors, retiring in 2002 after 30 years of service. Ed will be remembered as a pillar of strength for family and friends. Those who knew him knew of his generous heart and steadfast nature.
Surviving Ed are his children, Robert (Angela), John, Edward and Elizabeth Burchett; stepdaughters, Michelle Kopp and Renee (John) Maher; beloved grandson, Nolan, 9 other grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; sisters, Judy Chester and Amy Hill; brothers, Robert and Ron (Gloria); many nieces and nephews, and friends at Aspen Grove Assisted Living. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, William and Terry; sister, Debbie Burchett, and sister-in-law, Cathy Burchett.
Memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 29, 2013, from 2 p.m. until the time of funeral services at 7 p.m. in the Jasin-Hoening Funeral Home, 5300 N. Summit St., Toledo, OH 43611, (419-726-1583). In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ed's name may be sent to the Make A Wish Foundation. Online condolences may be left at

To Ed's dearest Family.So sorry to hear about your dad. He was such a dear friend to our family. I think he was one of the gentliest men I have ever had the honor of knowing.
