James "Borkie" Borcherding

BORCHERDING James "Borkie" F. James "Borkie" Borcherding, age 76, of Pemberville, OH, passed away on Thursday, June 28, 2007, at his residence. On June 18, 1931, he was born to John and Hattie (Briggs) Borcherding in Luckey, OH. James married Carolyn Rahe on July 23, 1955, in Pemberville, OH and she survives him. He was a chemist for Brush-Wellman, Elmore, OH, from December 27, 1949 to July 1, 1986. James served in the Marines during the Korean War and attended the Korean War Memorial in Washington. He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Pemberville, OH, Freedom American Legion Post #183 and was very dedicated to the Marine Corps. Surviving James are wife, Carolyn Borcherding of Pemberville, OH, and 9 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Hattie Borcherding. Family and friends will be received on Saturday June 30, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Marsh Funeral Home, 4094 State Route 105, Pemberville, OH. Funeral services will be Sunday July 01, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. from Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Pemberville, OH, where there will be additional visitation from 1:00 p.m. until time of services. Officiating will be Rev. David Wietelmann. Interment will be at Pemberville Cemetery. There will be a bereavement luncheon held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church immediately following the committal service at the cemetery.
