James Bundschuh Obituary

James T. Bundschuh, 85, of Castalia St., Fremont, died Monday, July 25, 2005, at Memorial Hospital. He was born April 16, 1920, in Fremont, the son of the late Theodore and Frances (Hoffman) Bundschuh. He married Marilyn (Williams) Kosta December 9, 1969, in Fremont, and she survives. James served as a Rifleman with the U.S. Army during WWII, where he was engaged in five major battles including the Battle of Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, the Rhineland, and Central Europe. He was awarded five Battle Stars, the WWII Victory Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, European Theater Campaign Ribbon, and a Good Conduct Medal. He was employed by Ludlow Composite, as a Special Mat Cutter, retiring in 1986, after 40 years of service. After retirement, James continued to work as a Security Guard for TRW/Kelsey-Hayes, for 20 years. He was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church and a Life member of the Fremont VFW. He loved gardening, his fruit trees, working on cars, and birds. He was a 1938 graduate of St. Joseph High School.
James is survived by children, Mary Carol Bundschuh, Sedona, AZ, Sr. Celine Bundschuh SND, Toledo, OH, James L. (Bonnie) Bundschuh, Athens, OH, Linda Bundschuh Davis, Birmingham, MI, Thomas T. Bundschuh, Sylvania, OH, Susan (John) Conley, Fremont, Elizabeth (Kevin) King, Newerk, OH, Joseph (Mary Lou) Kosta, Clyde; brother, Leo (Marian) Bundschuh, and sister, Ruth (Robert) Biehler, both of Fremont; twelve grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded by his sister, Mary Nisset; brother, Raymond Bundschuh.
Visitation Thursday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Wonderly-Horvath Funeral Home and Crematory. Service Friday, July 29, 2005, 10:30 a.m., St. Ann Catholic Church. Burial, St. Joseph Cemetery with Military Service by Fremont VFW and American Legion.
