James Bruce Daney

James Bruce Daney, age 77, of Toledo, Ohio, left this world on September 19, 2024. He was born on October 18, 1946, in Toledo, Ohio, to the late Warren and Dorothy (Morgenstern) Daney.

As a graduate of Central Catholic High School, class of 1964, he excelled at both golf and baseball. Jim graduated from the University of Toledo in 1968 with a degree in accounting. At UT he was a varsity letterman in golf and remained an avid golfer for the rest of his life.

He was employed as the director of the Doctors corporation at the Medical College of Ohio and then at St. Vincent's sleep center before starting a painting and wallpapering company.

He was a proud lifetime member of Most Blessed Sacrament Parish. Those who knew Jim would describe him as a gentle and kind soul, larger than life, filling every room he entered with warmth and compassion. Jim's life was marked by the cherished memories he created with family, friends, and colleagues. Jim will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Those left to forever cherish her memory are his loving wife of 46 years, Kathryn (Mitchell) Daney, whom he married on June 9, 1978; sons, Kevin Daney and Scott Daney; and brother, Michael Daney.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Dorothy Daney.

Family and friends may visit at Most Blessed Sacrament Parish, 2240 Castlewood Dr. Toledo, Ohio 43613, on Thursday, September 26, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Most Blessed Sacrament Parish or to The Michael J. Fox Foundation.
