James Kasch Obituary

James E. Kasch

James E. Kasch, Sr., age 91, passed away peacefully on October 30, 2025. Jim was born in Toledo, OH, to parents, John and Sylvia (Bodi) Kasch. After graduating from Central Catholic High School in 1952, Jim enlisted in the United States Army serving in the Korean War conflict, where he made many lifelong friends. He graduated with a degree in accounting from The University of Toledo and earned his Certified Public Accounting License. He worked as a controller for Sheller-Globe and National Lime and Stone. Later he became the finance director for the City of Toledo and the City of Rossford, where he was involved in some exciting economic development projects for both.

After retirement, Jim kept busy with his own tax preparation service. Jim enjoyed watching UT sports and was an avid Lions and Tigers fan. Jim and Kathy loved to cruise and travel, their favorite destination being Las Vegas.

Jim was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Kathleen (Ott); brothers, Harry, Jack and Bill; stepson, Craig Butz; and son-in-law, Robert Harr. He is survived by daughter, Karolee Harr; sons, James, Jr. and John; and grandchildren, Cory Harr and Stephanie (Thomas) Hess.

Visitation will be at Reeb Funeral Home, on Saturday, November 1, 2025, from 11:30 a.m. until the funeral service begins at 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow at St. Elizabeth Cemetery, in Berkey, OH.

The family would like to thank Kingston of Perrysburg and Hospice of NWO for the loving care and kindness to their father.
