James Edward
James Edward Koprowski, 83, of Ft. Myers, FL peacefully passed March 22, 2017 due to complications from an earlier stroke.  He was born in Toledo, OH on August 2, 1933 to the late Julius and Ethel (Meredith) Koprowski. Jim married Rita Knisely on December 30, 1953, celebrating 63 loving years together. After serving his country honorably with the US Army, he worked in different fields until finding a lifelong career in selling steel. For a number of years he served as Sales Manager at Co-Bar Corporation, retiring from there in 2006.
An avid Ohio State fan, Jim also loved officiating high school and college football. He enjoyed participating in golf, racket ball, pickle ball, and all sports. Jim sang in the choir at the First United Methodist Church of Perrysburg plus later Chapel by the Sea of Ft. Myers Beach.
Jim's good-hearted and joyful soul will be missed by all who knew him. In remembering Jim, each of us should laugh often and love with our whole heart as that is what he did his entire life.
Left on earth to carry on are his devoted loving wife, Rita of Ft. Myers; their daughter, Kimberly (Dean and Terry) Southworth of Ft. Myers Beach; his brother, Edward J. (Betty) Koprowski; his nephew, Michael Koprowski; and nephews and nieces of OH.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Julian. A memorial service will be conducted at Chapel by the Sea at a later date. If you wish to remember Jim with a contribution, please do so to First United Methodist Church of Perrysburg, OH, or Chapel by the Sea of Ft. Myers Beach, FL.
