Janet L. Damschroder

Janet L. Damschroder, 81, of Oak Harbor, OH died Thursday, September 6, 2018 under Hospice care at Riverview Health Care Campus, Oak Harbor. She was born June 3, 1937 in Port Clinton, OH to the late Norman and Odelle (Bordeaux) Morse. She was a 1955 graduate of Salem-Oak Harbor High School. On May 11, 1957 she married Roger W. Damschroder who preceded her in death January 26, 2018. Janet was a proud homemaker and also dispatched for the former Ottawa Ambulance here in Oak Harbor. She was a member of the Oak Harbor United Methodist Church, Oak Harbor where she enjoyed volunteering her time. She had a knack for interior designing and could often be seen sitting in her favorite wicker swing on her front porch visiting with neighbors and passersby all summer long.

Survivors include her children, Cynthia Campo of Satsuma, FL, Linda (Ed) Ellis of Oregon, OH, Norman (Margaret) Damschroder of Maumee, OH, and Amy (William) Hanney of Oak Harbor, OH; 8 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and sister, Andrea (Donald) LaCumsky of Oak Harbor. She was also preceded in death by her son, Roger William "Bill" Damschroder; brother, Norman Morse Jr.; sister, Kay Quisno, and son-in-law, Richard Campo.

Services will begin at 1 p.m. Monday, September 10, 2018 at the Oak Harbor United Methodist Church, Oak Harbor with Pastor Rob Rakay officiating. The Family will receive friends on Monday from 11 a.m. until the time of service at the Church. Burial will be in Salem Twp. Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor. Memorial Contributions may be made to Riverview Station 6 (Lighthouse Unit), Ottawa County Humane Society, or Heartland Hospice Music Therapy. I have warm memories of Janet from my childhood and how welcoming and inviting she was. She was always kind to me, always friendly. Janet made me feel like a part of the family. She was certainly a giver. To all who mourn and miss her, you have my deepest sympathies.
