Jeanne Schneider Obituary

SCHNEIDER

Jeanne R.

Our Mom, Jeanne R. Schneider was always there for us. She made us feel loved and that to me was her greatest gift. We were lucky enough to have parents that made us feel safe. That meant they would always be there for us day or night, good or bad, you know what we lost.

Mom had just turned 84 this year. She was born to Emma and Erford McGregor on February 13, 1931.

In South Toledo, she met and fell in love with Richard Schneider while she was attending Central Catholic High School. The two were married in 1950. They raised six daughters. Her love of caring for us six girls was evident to anyone who knew her, from shining our shoes with Vaseline, to dressing us in matching outfits, she often commented that she would do it all over again if she could. Dad cleared an area of wooded land on Route 20A in Monclova which became our home. Truly, magical it was a place, surrounded by woods and barns filled with horses, cows, pigs, geese, and chickens; in the 70s there were 7,000 when they opened Schneider's Egg Lane.

Mom loved her job as a cashier for 24 years at the Foodtown in Maumee.

The customers loved her too. When other lines remained open, customers would often stay in her line just to get an opportunity to chat with "Jeanne." Mom and Dad spent their retirement years traveling back and forth from Toledo to Florida. On the way they made many "new" lifelong friends. Our mom's creativity was awe inspiring. Her talents included cake decorating, baking, stained glass, sewing, embroidery, and knitting. In addition, she used her persuasive charm to lead our Dad to the ballroom dance floor. Mom's love for creating miniatures led her to join the miniature club at Crosby Gardens, where she created many award winning scenes.

My mother will always be with us.

She is the whisper of the leaves when we walk down the street. She is the sound of winter leggings swishing.

She is the smell of certain foods, the dandelions we pick, the sugar cookies we bake, and the crafts that we make, She is Life itself. She is the cool hand on our brow, the spit on a tissue that made us look our best. She is our breath in the air on a cold winter's day. She is the sound of the rain that lulls us to sleep. She is Christmas morning. She is the place where we were born, our first home. She is the map we follow with every step we take. She was our first love, our first friend, even our first enemy, but nothing on earth can separate us from her. Not time, not space, not even death.

She will forever be remembered by her six daughters, Debbie Clouse Biddle, Pam McIntyre, Cindy Turner (Jim), Laurie Schneider Hahn (Dave), Amy Schneider and Sheila Johnson (David); as well as her 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the support personnel at Kingston Residence of Perrysburg for loving our Mom like their own. You are angels. Special thanks also to Hospice of Northwest Ohio for their support and kindness.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2015, at 1 p.m. at Roth Cemetery, 4650 Keener Road, Monclova, Ohio 43542. Contributions in Jeanne's name may be made to: Therapy Dogs International Chapter 122, 88 Bartley Road, Flanders. NJ 07836, "where she was know as the 'dog whisperer.'" We are so sorry to hear of your mom's passing. She is in paradise now with the Lord. We will always remember her beautiful smile and the flowers that she wore in her hair. She brightened up the whole room when she came into it. My mom and sister and I were very fond of her and enjoyed seeing her when we visited our dad at Kingston. God Bless you and your family. Sincerely, Dolores McKosky, Linda Meyer and Allison Gibel.

Debbie, Pam, Cindy, Laurie, Amy& Sheila,

You must know how deeply saddened we are to hear of the passing of your mother. Your mom was a dear friend.

We never heard an ill word spoken of her. She was kind, compassionate, and a true lady. Sadly there are few people like that in the world today.

Your mother will be missed very much. She has left us with so many wonderful memories. We will cherish them forever.

We pray that in this time of loss you'll feel God's love much more and that you'll find your comfort in the presence of the Lord. We pray God pours upon you His sweet amazing grace and overflow your heart with peace as you live in His embrace.

In Friendship & Sorrow,

I had the pleasure of meeting Jeanne in her later years. She always had a big smile and brought joy to my mom, her friend in the retirement center. She will be missed dearly. May she rest in comfort until she is reunited with her family again. Prayers of comfort to all who knew her.
