Jesse Riven Obituary
Jesse L.
Jesse L. Riven, 79, passed away November 21, 2012, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio- Detroit Avenue. Born in Hope, Arkansas, he attended school in Toledo before beginning a long career in the construction industry. He retired from Local 500 and the Stanford E. Thall Co. after 40 years. He was also the owner of J & J Appliance Repair. He was a member of the singing group The Heavenly Five which later changed to the Spirits of Joy. Jesse was a member of Trinity Faith Tabernacle.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Cleo Riven (Mother Cleo Green) and leaves to cherish his memory seven children, Pamela Riven of Toledo, OH, Gerri (Kevin) Brown of Columbus, OH, JaDora (Michael) Jewell of Smithsburg, MD, Carolyn Abernathy of Milwaukee, WI, Jesse (Dawn) Riven Jr. of Findley, OH, JaMarr (Shannon) Riven of Toledo, OH and Michael Jett of Memphis, TN; sisters, Brenda Lee Mitchell, Vicki Green Horsley and Jacqui Body; 27 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; special nephew, Robert Green; special friend, Louis Randall; god sister, Joanna Scott, and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Tuesday 11:00 a.m. followed by funeral services at 12:00 noon Trinity Faith Tabernacle with interment in Historic Woodlawn Cemetery.
