So sad to read of Big Jim's passing. Got thinking about him recently when I was looking through old pictures so I went looking. When he was a DJ in Toronto he mentioned on air that he wanted to get a big shaggy dog, a Sheep Dog but he didn't want to spend a fortune on one. We had a purebred who had non-purebred puppies so we called him at the radio station to see if he was interested. He arrived the next day and picked up his puppy. We visited back and forth several times. He loved that dog! Jim was such a bigger-than-life but down to earth guy. We really enjoyed knowing him. RIP big guy.

It's been several years so this is likely way overdue but Jim and I worked at WCWA when I was working my way thru college at UT. Always great stories for an 18 year old kid. He an Frank Gilhooley formed many good memories of "Seaway Radio". I
Really brought back memories of his pic from that time. I worked that board many shifts as well.

"Big Jim" was my on air team mate and pal at CFTR Toronto in '79-'80, and then swapping notes with my friend until his passing. He's remembered fondly by all who knew him. Good dude who's missed.

I just found out about Jim's passing.I used to listen to his morning show on CFTR Toronto when I drove to work in Pickering Ontario from 1975 until 1978.I remember him and Weather Fairy and his crowing rooster and when his show ended,he would say..."come get me mother I'm through". I have to say that Jim was the best dj back in the day.I am truly saddened about his passing and just reading about it.R.I.P Jim....you always made my morning drive to work something to look forward to.

I can't believe Jim is gone. I was just remembering him and decided to search to see what I could find out about him these days. I'm so sorry to have found this. I have so many great memories of listening to him on CFTR in my youth. That can never be taken away.

I got to know Jim when he worked at CFTR in Toronto. We would go for birthday lunches as our birthdays were both in August. Lost touch but reconnected several years ago. I will miss his e-mails and listening to his great radio voice. Jim, you are finally at peace. My prayers go out to your family.

Jim and I were best friends for many years. We worked together in Toledo at WTTO, and later worked at separate stations in Toronto. We shared many a pizza and beer.
There was never a better radio personality and friend than Jim Felton

Never met big Jim, who sometimes called himself "your uncle Jimmy." Admired his hard working style and he was such an affable sounding fellow, perfect for radio. It was interesting learning we both were Devilbiss High School graduates. Lost track of Jim and, sadly, it took his obituary to track his career progress. He was an unforgettable radio personality and I know we would have enjoyed a solid friendship. God bless the Felton family.

I have worked in radio for many years and in my travels I have met many wonderful people, none finer than Jim Brady. I had the pleasure to work with him for a dhort time in Toledo and he always had a kind word for me. When I was working in Las Vegas I always made it a point to tune him in and have a laugh and a smile or two. When I met him he was just as nice as he seemed on the radio and I was proud to call him friend. One of his favorite segments on his show was "the forgotten 45." The 45's are indeed forgotten but Jim Brady never will be. He touched so many of us in such positive ways. I know that he is happy up there in Rock and Roll heaven doing what he loved.

Jim was a swell guy who gave me my first look inside a radio station, WTOL, then WCWA. Here's a photo I took of Jim at the WCWA board, circa 1964.

Jim, I was across the street with Jay at the 1050 when you were on the air in TO. I am now in AZ and cherish the day when radio was what people like you and the rest of us made it. Great! Sorry to see you spin away to that control room in the sky but you know...Your voice and words will travel into space for all eternity. That's a fact. You are one of the great voices and are missed. You did't know me but I sure knew you.
May your journey be one full of light and love.

Uncle Felty, Big Jim Brady, or whatever name we know him by, is a voice and personality that can never be replaced. We've lost another Toledo Broadcast Legend. R.I.P. Big Jim!
