Della & Family,

I want to express my sympathy in the loss of John. Seeing you and John every Sunday was an inspiration to me and my husband. To see the two of you sharing a kiss before you turned to greet your church family showed that the two of you were always first to each other. And anyone who is married needs to keep focused on that and not let all the little issues of life get in the way.

I am deeply saddened with the passing of "Mr. Freytag". He was Oak Harbor's finest teacher and develped a first class music program. He propelled Oak Harbor High School into one of the top music programs in Ohio--attaining superior ratings many times in state competition. His loyalty to students, caring and nuturing personality and steady leadership provided a foundation that all of his students will be forever grateful. He truly was our "Mr. Holland". My sympathies are extended to Mrs. Freytag, Martha and Melinda and families on the passing of such a wonderful man. May God bless you and may God bless Mr. Freytag.

I owe any musical talent I have to Mr. Freytag. As a 10-year old 5th grader at Oak Harbor, he encouraged and taught me everything I know about playing the clarinet. And now, 50 years later, I am still playing that same clarinet in the Maumee Community Band. Had it not been for his patience, wisdom and kindness, I would have missed out on that very rewarding part of my life. I owe him much and he will be tremendously missed by many!
