John O'Henry Obituary
04/16/1963 - 03/14/2025
John "Sam" O'Henry, Jr. unexpectedly passed away at his home on Friday, March 14, 2025. He was born on April 16, 1963, in Toledo Ohio.
His family and close friends knew him by his nickname Sam, and others knew him by his given name John. He possessed a mischievous sense of humor and demonstrated that up to the day he passed. His favorite sports teams were the Black Hawks, Notre Dame, Pittsburg Steelers, Lakers, and the Orioles. He also loved to watch Boxing and would keep his brother and sister informed of his opinions on fights. He enjoyed playing hockey in his younger years and was an excellent Goaltender. He graduated from DeVilbiss High School in 1982 and worked at the Toledo Jeep Assembly Plant for over 30 years and retired in 2017.
John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Maria O'Henry; his brother, Joe; his granddaughter, Madeline.
John is survived by his children, Samantha, John, and Marissa O'Henry; brother, Jorge O'Henry (Lisa); sister, Nancy O'Henry Roberts (Lew); grandchildren, Ray Jr., Greyson, Aurora, Alaia and Messiah; nieces and nephews, Brooke, Grace, Jorge., Ava, and Donnalee; and his loyal dog, Logan.
Family and friends will be welcome at Castillo Funeral Home, 1757 Tremainsville Rd., on Sunday, April 6th, after 2 p.m., followed by a Memorial Service at 4 p.m.
In accordance with Sam's preferences and his personality, he would have appreciated it if you dressed in a comfortable manner.
He will be interred at Toledo Memorial Park at a later date.
