My precious lil Joseph, I still find it hard to believe that you're really gone. My heart aches not having you here with us. I find myself through the days thinking about what all the fun things we would of done this summer. I know this summer would have been just as fun as the last summers with you and SaReya. I know she would have had the time of her life with you just like the times before. Thank you Joseph for touching not only my life but also SaReya's. It warms my heart knowing that I had you Joseph who loved us and cared for us in our life. I hold so many wonderful memories like when you pretended our walk-in closet was your bedroom and you really would sleep in there, when you SaReya Rashaun all went out and played in the rain, you pushing SaReya in the backyard on her little bike, you making fun of my french toast, you doing that dance where you snap your fingers, and all the phone calls on holidays especially on mothers day. the memories I will take with me about joe are numerous, but I will always remember him as curious, clever, quick-witted, affable, loved, humorous, keen, and a little mischievous. his smile lit up a room and his humor was admired by all. he was loved by many friends. joe stood up for hurting people which showed his true character. something Joe loved to do was read, especially S.E. Hinton novels. but, I suspect he enjoyed talking with all his beloved friends even more!

It was certainly distressful to hear of your passing, Joe...not because I knew you but because I knew your family loved you. I love your auntie like a sister and she spoke of you often. Who knew?
As the mother of a deceased child...I have walked this road and know that it never stops hurting but the heartache does subside as long as you know that God's will...not ours...is always in play. My deepest and most sincere condolences go out to Joseph's parents and the rest of the family.
Even when you're angry, lean on God's unchanging hands and recognize He takes none before their time nor without reason...even though we may never come to understand such an extreme and devastating loss.

Joseph was one of the coolest kids i ever met.He was the protector of my son angelo.There are not enough words to thank Joseph for doing that for him. I spoke with him daily at the YMCA. There are no words to express how grateful i am for the the things he did for my son. It has taken me all this time to write this becuase I still find myself crying uncontronablly right now. I miss you so much and though I do not want to question God for taking you away from us, I will forever feel the pain of you being gone.
Just today, I found several items that belonged to you in my house and as hard as it was for me to look or even touch them, I had to tell myself that there was a reason that you were around so much...so that we could spend as much time with you as we could.
