Josephine M.
Josephine M. Duran, 82, of Toledo, Ohio passed away November 2, 2014, at Mercy St. Charles Hospital, where she was surrounded by her loving family. She was born in San Antonio, Texas on May 25, 1932, to Tito and Josefa (Ruiz) Martinez. Josie was employed at Libbey Glass as a sorter, retiring in 1986. She was an active member of SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Josie traveled extensively with her husband, Victor, enjoying 14 different cruises and also enjoyed camping. They were also foster parents to many children. Josie and Victor were always there to help and educate the migrant workers when they came to work for local farmers.
Surviving is her daughter, Mary Ellen Duran; siblings, Maria Guadalupe Perez, San Antonio, TX, Teresa (Vidal) Hernandez, San Antonio, TX, Lucia Perales, Tito Jr. (Elida) Martinez, Olga (Eleodoro) Martinez, Magdalena (Daniel) Miranda, Micaela (Damacio) Sifuentes, Alejandro (Gloria) Martinez, San Antonio, TX and Roberto (Carmen) Martinez; numerous nieces and nephews. Josie was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Victor J. Duran.
Friends and family may visit at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Tuesday and Wednesday from 2-8 p.m. with recitation of the rosary on Wednesday at 7 p.m. Funeral services will begin in the funeral home on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. with prayers and proceed to SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 728 S. St. Clair Street for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery Mausoleum. Memorial contributions may be directed to SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church.
