Josie Langsdorf Obituary

LANGSDORF

Josie Gonzales

Josie Gonzales Langsdorf, 41, died peacefully on February 17, 2014, surrounded by her family and friends after a valiant battle with lung cancer, even though she was a lifelong non-smoker. She was born in Toledo, Ohio on July 12, 1972, to Junior "Manuel" and Melody Gonzales. Josie graduated from Waite High School in 1990 and worked for NAMSA and Honeywell, before she became a stay at home mom, a job she loved. Josie had a passion for scrap booking, reality TV shows and the Ohio State Buckeyes. She was proud of growing up on the East Side of Toledo.

Josie loved people, and lived her life to the fullest. Her smile lit up the room. During her fight with cancer, Josie filled many of her bucket list wishes, including meeting reality TV star Scott Disick from Keeping Up With The Kardashians. This was made possible with the help of the Anthony Wayne community.

Surviving are her daughters, Ashley and Allison "lil dog" Langsdorf; her parents; her brother, Manuel "Goozer", and her sister, Angie "DeeDee" Gonzales; special niece, Olivia, and brother-in- law, Greg Langsdorf; special friend, Kari Meyers, and special aunt, Gloria Rodriguez who cared for Josie. She is also survived by the father of her daughters, Brian J. Langsdorf. She was preceded in death by her grandparents and her special canine companion Simon.

Friends and family may visit at Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 S. Reynolds Rd. on Friday, February 21 from 12-8 p.m. The funeral will begin at Coyle at 11 on Saturday, February 22, followed by the mass at Gesu Church at 12 p.m. Interment will be at Resurrection cemetery. Those wishing to make a donation in Josie's memory may contribute to Gesu Catholic Church.

I am watching the Kardashians episode right now and fell in love with Josie. What an amazing and beautiful soul! I have two sons and two daughters and I want her daughters to remember this saying ...

I am not gone ... I am simply in another room.

My father was only 55 and I was only 23 when he went home to be with Jesus. He had pancreatic, liver, lung and brain cancer. I always remember that saying when I am missing him. It gives me comfort knowing he is not gone. I hope it gives you girls comfort too.

My husband met Josie while getting chemo treatments at the clinic. He used to say that she lit up the room. I thought she was an angel sent to help him thru a very difficult time. I am sure he is taking very good care of her in heaven. My heart goes out to your family.
